Welcome to the Spring 2012 Semester!

On behalf of NYUCN Office of Academic Advising & Learning Development, we would like to welcome you to the spring 2012 semester! For the continuing students, we hope you had a restful break and for the new students who started this spring, we would like to welcome you to NYU's College of Nursing! You made an excellent choice to attend NYUCN. Our undergraduate and graduate nursing programs are top notch! We look forward to working with every one of you this semester!

The purpose of the Office of Academic Advising & Learning Development (OAA & LD) is to support students throughout their academic progression. Each nursing student is assigned to an advisor who will work with them to support and guide them until graduation. Students may schedule an appointment with their assigned advisor at any point during the semester through their Student Center in Albert.

The OAA & LD provides a number of academic support programs for students, some of which include test taking, time management, library research skills, and carer workshops. Additionally, the OAA & LD offers a Peer Advising program for students who wish to be mentored or those who are interested in gaining leadership skills and serving as a mentor for their peers. The OAA & LD provides a tutoring program for designated BS nursing sequence courses and assistance with tutor matching for graduate courses. We encourage all students to get involved in NYUCN's academic support programs right away!

One of the main goals of this blog is to provide nursing students with helpful tips to assist with their academic progression in a fun and informal manner. We love to hear from students so please let us know if you have an idea for a blog or are interested in being a guest blogger! We wish you all a successful spring 2012 semester. Please reach out to a member of the administrative advising team at any point if you have questions or ideas about how we can support you!
